THE REVIEW
TWISTED SISTERS proves that having a twin can be a bitch.... literally. Jennifer, is a normal british office woman with a normal happy life with boyfriend Alan as they expect their first child. Meanwhile, a string of sex crimes have been happening in the area, and the suspect has been described as resembling Jennifer. It is later known that Jennifer was adopted and that she did in fact have a twin by the name of Nora. Nora grew up less fortunate than sister Jennifer, often having to settle for not having anything in life, and also having to endure sexual abuse from her uncle. As a way to get redemption, Nora takes it out on the one person that never knew she existed, Jennifer by assuming her life and identity.

When I heard that this film was from the UK, I thought I was in for another terrible import, simply for the fact that I have seen so many stinkers originating from the 'kingdom". But with TWISTED SISTERS I was pleasantly surprised, not only does this film have a great plot, but very good acting as well. I like to think of this movie sort of as being "THE PARENT TRAP from hell", as you have one actress playing both respected roles, except this time one is evil while the other is wholesome. Jennifer, the nice one loves her boyfriend Alan and hopes to build a family with him, and works an office job during the day. On the other hand we have Nora, whom is a cold blooded bitch, who lurks around often sporting a blonde wig to conceal herself. Nora also feels the need to punish all men as well, as you normally has sex with a gentleman, only to later cut off their penis.

Speaking of which, the effects in the movie are rather well done here, the castrating looks all too realistic, even down to a fake penis floating in a toilet - it is enough to make any man cringe at the sight of such mutilation! There is also another scene in which, evil Nora lights a firecracker while it is lodged in the ass of an innocent sex slave - although obviously CGI, the effects are great, and even the thought of this even happening is horrendous enough.

The acting here is pretty good, Fiona Horsey, does a wonderful job in dual roles and shows great versatility, the way she was able to get into both roles seamlessly, made the twin sisters very believable. Andrew Southern was also great as Alan, although his part wasn't nearly as important, the film seemed to rely on Horsey's two roles for the primary focal point.

I'd say that for a British film, TWISTED SISTERS is very decent, it takes a true to life story that could happen and has happened, and makes for a rather different yet entertaining thriller....

GORE METER
5.5/10 Some of the gore is very realistic, as I had mentioned before. The severed genitals and the firecracker ass explosion makes this film unique in it's own way...

MUSICAL SCORE
5.5/10 The Music is also decent, it had a lot of techno beats that often lent an upbeat tempo to the film.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Although, not the greatest import I have seen, TWISTED SISTERS really surprised me. I am never, really a fan of movies in which an actor plays dual roles, but here they use just the right camera angles to make it convincing enough.....interesting film.
