| THE REVIEW In the X-Rated Horror feature, THE TAUNTING, a young couple comes across an old mansion that is seemingly haunted by a ghost-like female creature. When the couple enter the mansion, they find sex at every corner, and in each room a different fetish act is in progress. It seems as if the ghost creature that roams the halls, has the power to make anyone who enters the mansion live out her sexual pleasures and desires. Soon our naive couple is lured in by the ghost's charm, and they find themselves seduced into the sexual acts themselves. Well, as my website's subtitle, states, I review "Everything Horror, Sci-Fi and Suspense", so when the opportunity arose to review this new X-Rated Horror flick from Spice Studios, like many Horror sites would probably do, I didn't shun it away - after all it's theme here is in fact a Horror one, and let's face it, Horror has always wanted to be Porn with it's copious amount of gratuitous nudity over the years - it just never showed the goods. The film has a very distinct documentary feel to it, and it's obvious from the beginning that it draws it's look, feel and story from Japanese films(and their Americanized remakes), most notably here is THE GRUDGE. The ghost that roams the premises of the mansion, dare I say it looks just like the ghost, in THE GRUDGE films. Lystra Faith, as the said ghost in the film does a wonderful job, she is both dark and frighten-ly creep all in one - and when she appears, you better watch out, as you might just be doing whatever her little ghostly heart desires. To be perfectly honest, I don't watch a lot of full length X-Rated films very often, but I have seen my share, and do know my girls. I wasn't too familiar with most of the girls featured in THE TAUNTING, but one of the reasons I chose to review this film is because it features Gianna Michaels(or here known as simply as "Gianna"). I do know her, and in a short time she has become one to watch. She is in the scene to open up the film, with girl-girl action(while another girl, bound and tied, watches on). Gianna is the domineering one in this scene, so it's not exactly what I was hoping to see, but the scene is still effective to say the least. I liked the idea of having a slightly different act occur in each room, as it make the mansion, kind of like a haunted house you may see at a carnival or something - as weird as that my sound. For the most part the scenes are pretty engaging, partly due to the creative angles Directed by Braeden. I don't believe that any of the said angles ever felt similar, it kept things fresh in my opinion. Also with me saying this, I could also state the opposite, because as you probably imagined already, the Horror theme with the ghost is very thin and limited, as about 80% of the film's goal is the sex, the sex scenes are good, but after you get enough of a good thing, it's always likely to grow old. The bonus features on the disc feature two bonus scenes; a masturbation sequence involving the film's ghost femme-fatale, and an explicit girl-girl sex scene involving one of the film's stars and the Director, and B-Movie Scream Queen Zenova Braeden, I wasn't too crazy about the ghost masturbation scene as it wasn't very erotic, but rather pointless. But as for the scene involving THE TAUNTING'S Director Zenova Braeden, I think it is just an awesome thing to have a Director whom helmed a film and then also getting in a little participation in for herself - you gotta love that! Overall THE TAUNTING is a decent effort for what it is, the Direction is creative, the editing is slick(with the exception of some instances), and the sex scenes are well done - those looking to find, your typical erotic film with more Horror and less sex, unfortunately for them, they won't find that here, but for fans of well-thought artistic Pornographic film, are sure to find something in this film to like. |

| OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM I enjoyed this film for the most part, it's concept seems to have been well thought about, unlike a lot of porn films whom seem to have a "on-the-fly" plot. In my opinion some of the scenes begin to feel repetitive after awhile, but that's only my opinion. Check this one out if this is your type of thing! |
