THE REVIEW
Stories of a Gravedigger is a unique film in it's own right. This film takes a format, much like the old Tales from the Crypt shows in which we are presented with multiple stories in one feature film. Stories of a Gravedigger supplies us with 3 very different stories.... I was pleased to have watched this one has the camera work on all 3 stories were both top notch and equally crisp. Since there are 3 stories here, I will begin by presenting my opinion on each of them :

JUST ANOTHER NIGHT 4 1/2/10 : This story revolves around a security guard working at a psychiatric hospital...What he has is a heavy secret, and that secret is that he takes pleasure in murdering the innocent. He will soon find out that all of these innocent victims have risen from the grave and is out to get their revenge. This was a great story, and almost reminiscent of the 80's cult classic "Maniac" However I did not like the dizzying blur camera effect, it was annoying and repetitive, and was used in a good portion of the story.

LA DIABLE 5/10 - Is a story much like some of the old 80's camp films, it involves a group of friends on a camping trip. On this camping trip some unfortunate and weird things befell upon the group of friends. Suddenly someone begins to kill of these individuals in various ways. Who is it? is the question asked, and these friends pull out all the stops to find an answer. To me, this is without question the best story in this compilation. The director did a great job behind the camera and the overall look of it was fantastic. Also this one achieves the goal of keeping it's audience guessing.

ROOM 66 3/10 : This one is the story of a frustrated author that is pressured by an upcoming deadline for his newest novel. He checks into a secluded room of an hotel to hopeful just the quiet time needed to complete the novel. What he doesn't know is that, this room had once saw gruesome murders.. Now this one was really hard for me to catch onto and understand. Maybe for that reason it tends to be my least favorite.

This film also is accompanied by awesome 2d and 3d animation between stories as it ties into the story itself. It is about 2 young boys interested in an old graveyard...there the 2 kids meet "The Gravedigger". This is where The Gravedigger tells the stories and thus the film officially begins. Great animation along with the clean look of the film, make this a pretty good one.

GORE METER
4/10 The gore is at average, some of it looks pretty realistic, while other times it does not

MUSICAL SCORE
6/10 - I really liked the soundtrack a lot! It had many beats that tend to stay with you well after you have viewed the film.

SPECIAL FEATURES RATING
4/10 The special features are just ok with me, we get a behind the scenes look at each of the stories' background that is pretty informative.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Overall i'd say this film is above average. I really enjoyed this especially LA DIABLE, with JUST ANOTHER NIGHT coming in at second. Like I said earlier, however ROOM 66 was just bland in my opinion and certainly lacks the luster of the other 2.

I say give this a look even if you are not a big fan of short story films such as this.
