| PLOT Lilith cannot conceive a child no matter how hard she tries and how desperately she wishes. As her marriage begins to unravel, so does her hold on reality slowly and painfully and dangerously slip away. A beautiful neighbor who has just become pregnant befriends Lilith, and their relationship ignites a furious envy within her that turns increasingly threatening and grotesque. Cursed with a body refusing to bear life and driven mad by psychotic fantasy, Lilith will stop at nothing to experience happiness with a child – any child. She will become a mother, right this very moment, however monstrous and shocking the consequences might be. |

| THE REVIEW In SINFUL. we are presented with a twisted story. The twisted story is about a young woman named Lilith. It is quickly made clear to you that all Lilith ever wanted in life was a child and nothing else really mattered to her at all. Day after day she constantly harasses husband Jim into having sex, despite his unwillingness to participate. all in hopes of producing a child of her own - but it seems that no matter how hard she tries it does not seem to work. Lilith becomes even more frustrated and upset when she learns of her next door neighbor Aisha's great sex life with her husband - it is something Lilith wishes she had with Jim. Suddenly Lilith grows an undeniable fascination of Aisha's life and often listen's in on that sex life she wishes she had, by placing one ear next to the wall - in one instance she places a hand on the wall, Aisha hears her eavesdropping neighbor and "touches hands" with her. The next day, it just so happens that both Aisha and Lilith both have respective appointments at the gynecologist, this is where Aisha informs Lilith that she is pregnant and and seemingly in Lilith's twisted mind she believes it's THEIR baby as result of their "touching the night before. It is then Lilith becomes even more obsessed with Lilith and her baby whom she has already named Daisy. Lilith keeps a close eye on her neighbors across the way and becomes over protective of the child in which Aisha is holding - often becoming jealous of anyone getting close to Aisha and by the film's end Lilith proves that absolutely nothing will get in her way as she will have a child of her own. If you had a hard time understanding the above summary - don't worry it's all because I had a hard time understanding the film itself. I have review just about any type of film that POPCinema(formally EI Independent Cinema) has to offer and I have to tell you that SINFUL is by far the most difficult film to understand that they have ever released. SINFUL has been completed for at least a year or so and for me it was the most anticipated from POPCinema, unfortunately in all honestly it was not worth the wait. It seems as if some of the film has been cut or reshot, as the earlier trailers for when it was still called SINFUL WIVES, contained scenes in which I did not see here - or so I think. The film is shot beautifully as always by Marsiglia, and the images are at times engaging as some of the content is quite graphic(such as a dead fetus, and then later a still born fetus kept in a jar). but the plot and flow of the film just does not add up. While watching it, it is the honest truth when I say that in my head I was thinking "this does not make sense" - in my opinion it doesn't. SINFUL does have a plot but the pace does not stay on track and suddenly the events that occur and the images shown are so random that what was once was the plot later just becomes just a mere idea - it was just about being disturbing all of the sudden and the plot was nearly non existent. The acting here however was great. Star Misty Mundae showed us in LUST FOR DRACULA, just how crazy a character she can portray, and here she shows it once again but even more prominently. Misty is always great when she has another beautiful co-star to feed off of..and here she has that in the equally lovely Erika Smith. When I saw Smith in her fist feature, which was Brett Piper's BITE ME!, I quickly took a liking to her. Erika has a certain charm that catches the viewers eye, and I have no doubt in my mind that we will be seeing much more of her. Overall, I am a big fan of Tony Marsiglia and he is more than just an erotic film Director as most people my think of him as - to me he is an artist. Here in SINFUL the art and imagination is still exist but maybe a little too much as the great story he has crafted essentially becomes lost along the way. |

METER 5.5/10 As mentioned earlier the images on display here are often disturbing but effective and might I mention realistic.....the fetuses look sick, but artistically they are awesome! |

SCORE 5.5/10 Just like the effects, the score is effective as well. Piano driven, the score adds a hauntingly dark tone to an already unique film. |

IMPRESSION OF THE FILM I did expect big things from this film after the trailers made this one look so promising, but to me personally it was rather a disappointment. The performances, look and fell where all there to make SINFUL great, but the thin plot that somehow dissolves ends up sending the viewer on a roller coaster of confusion that is virtually inescapable.... |
