PLOT
When production starts on a movie detailing the urban legend of his parents' lethal exploits, Glen heads for Hollywood where he brings his bloodthirsty parents back from the dead. The family dynamics are far from perfect as Chucky and Tiffany go Hollywood and get rolling on a new spree of murderous mayhem – much to gentle Glen’s horror. Chucky can't believe that his child doesn't want to walk in his murdering footsteps, and star-struck Tiffany can't believe that the movie will star her favorite actress, Jennifer Tilly (playing herself), who soon becomes an unwitting hostess to this new family in more ways than one...

THE REVIEW
Well I will begin saying that I am a fan of the Chucky series. I think whenever the original "Child's Play was released some 20 years prior that it was a huge innovation in the world of film. Today that still rings true as many puppets have touched our screen, but certainly not with as much an impact as Chucky has. In my honest opinion, this film, "Seed of Chucky" is the weakest in it's series. This film still has everything you know and love from the series, such as the remarkable puppeteering and the incredible gore. But what this film had working against it is the rather thin, self destructive plot. The fact that we have real celebrities playing themselves here is a distraction, and this almost sets the film up as to making itself seem like a parody. This alone makes this a laughable film, and takes away any of the chills that we are accustomed to from the earliest of "Child's Play"
Chucky and Tiffany's son "Glen/Glenda" Is to me one of the most awkward character's i've seen on screen. Throughout the film the child suffers from an identity crisis put forth upon him by his loving parents, During the film we see Glen/Glenda experiment shall we say, with bows in one's hair, dresses and what have you....dress or no dress this doll is absolutely hideous. The parents try to teach him that killing is the way of life for them but little Glen makes it well known he wants no part in this recreation. I'll comment and say that the interactions between the dolls are sometimes very hilarious and witty.
Well the acting really goes to the actors that voiced over the dolls in this one. But what we do have is Red Man, playing himself as a would be director, and he is on a mission to cast Tilly in his next flick. Also we have Jennifer Tilly returning for this sequel, however playing herself, and she is struggling to get by with job opportunities being nearly scarce. I can't say that their acting is all that wonderful....I mean really, how hard is it to play yourself? Also we have Hannah Spearritt, from the once Mega popular UK band S Club 7 appearing as Tilly's assistant. She offers a somewhat ok effort here, although there is not much built around her character.
Over all this film has an amazing look about it, it is still highly entertaining just not as solid as it's cult predecessors.

4/10 There's a lot of splatter, some of it looking CGI animated, it is ok to say the least bit, I did enjoy the realistic decapitation though.

OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Again, Overall, this is a great addition if you already have the box set with the previous 4 (like me). But if you are just now getting introduced to Chucky, start off right, start with the birth of Chucky and not his child! Other than that give it a look....
