THE REVIEW
I will begin with saying that this film never ceased to entertain me at all. I truly in fact enjoyed this film a lot. The story involves a "famous" or so they say, shock photographer named Roger Neale. Neale, concocts a plan, in which he takes his group of client models to an old abandoned psychiatric hospital for a special planned photo session. The young girls accompanying Neale are told this building appears to be haunted by the murder victims of it's inventor constructor. It turns out that may soon begin to ring true for the buildings occupants. It just so happened that the previous resident and owner of the building tortured innocent people with inventions made from his own hand!
To me the production on this particular film was top notch, considering what the crew had to work with and that it is an independent feature. Visually, looking at, it, one would not begin to know that it was. The images were super crisp and vibrant, making this easily a joy to look at. My Kudos go out here to Brett Piper and crew, it was a true job well done.
The acting here was surprisingly well executed, Joseph Farrell, did a wonderful job here as Roger Neale. His character was so heartless that he admitted to practically owning his clients and Farrel did a convincing job of making that aspect believable throughout the film. Also here, what the most appealing performance is Misty Mundae as Bridget..... Boy, what more can I say about Misty, other than she is simply amazing! This is actually my first "major" time seeing Misty in a film, previously I had saw her in two of her soft-core efforts late at night on a cable access movie channel. Even in that she showed promising Talent. I am simple amazed by Mundae....whether you have heard of her or not, the people who have, know what star quality she brings to any table. She is what Brinke Stevens was to the 80's!
Going on to special effects, I will admit that they were not the best in the world but they were excusable, because the wonderful acting put out by the cast just made that non existent, you just didn't really mind. The effects were still great and do tend to win over, opposed to some select independent films these days.
Once again, good acting, fairly entertaining story that never grows old, I will say I truly enjoyed it.. |

SPECIAL
FEATURES RATING
7/10 Wonderful special features here, we just a behind the scenes look at Screaming Dead, but what made the special features, a must see was the featurette on star, Misty Mundae! It offers a truly awesome look at how she started her career, making trash horror, with Factory 2000, and how she rose to the occasion with EI Cinema, definitely worth a look all on it's own...
Also in the mix was a look at the screening of Screaming dead, at the Fango convention, the film was well received by fans in attendance and now, I can say I see why...
Also there was a photo gallery, a look at its theatrical premiere as well as a trailer vault.
