| THE REVIEW When I began watching this film, I was really excited to see that the film had that 70's look in feel to it. Well unfortunately, that is basically all we get, because the production and the overall movie was absolutely terrible. This story evolves around a B-movie actress named Raven Quinn, who just so happens to be filming her nest feature entitled "Scream Queen Christmas". What Raven doesn't know, is that her next door neighbor Wayne, whom Raven thinks she knows, is actually obsessed with her. He will go to any length, to win her love and to be with the object of his affection. This movie's outward appearance makes this look like one of those cheap sleaze cinemax films, that show nothing but nudity in them. In fact it was very sleazy. EI Independent Cinema have released many soft-core efforts in the past and the production quality on those were top notch, on like this. EI's more promising films seem to be far more superior when they are self produced in-house production's such as their first "Shock-O-Rama" release Screaming Dead which was great. Santa Claws seems to have been acquired through an acquisition, as it lacks Shock-O quality. The acting in this film is just as bad as the entire film itself, Debbie Rochon was decent, but i've seen her act much better than this. Wayne, played by Grant Kramer ( do not confuse him with Grant Cramer, from Killer Klowns from Outer Space, which happens to be a great film) put on one of the worst performances, I have ever seen on film, why on earth was he cast as a killer!? Speaking of the Killer, it was also one of the stupidest killers ever to grace a screen, he was dressed as Santa "Claws" killing every one with a plastic garden claw?? Not even a 6 year old would begin to believe that. This is another film that tried to win with basically nothing but nudity, i've said it once and i'll say this once again, Horror movies that solely rely on nudity, to be a great film, will NEVER work. Sure the traditional nudity will work but, great horror films always have a plot. |

FEATURES RATING 4/10 Added on the dvd is a featurette, with the women of Santa Claws, called "Scream Queen Naked Christmas" not that great as, all of the girls from the film except for Debbie Rochon were unattractive....thank God EI found Misty Mundae and Rachel Robbins! Also added is a trailer vault, of other EI films |

IMPRESSION OF THE FILM This film, certainly, doesn't get our recommendation, I am shocked that this came from one of the co-creators of Night of the Living Dead, which remains and will always remain a cult favorite! |
