THE REVIEW
I thought that RAGING SHARKS, was a surprisingly good Sci-Fi/Horror picture. Now not being that big of a fan of shark films at all, I figured that this would be just like the other shark films coming out of nowhere these days, But what I got instead of the usual was a film that I kind of liked. I know that some of you die-hard horror heads will see this film and think i'm out of my mind and all, but I must tell you how "I" feel about it and I must say that it was pretty good. Now not to get twisted up here, this is NOT like the best movie ever, let alone the best Shark film ever, but it does blend Sci-Fi/Horror/ and drama quite nicely.

A fun movie, for the most part because some of it is so unbelievably fake and funny, that you can't wait to see what else is going to happen next. The plot is about a huge, orange glowing rock that falls into the ocean from outer space. This rock sends off a magnetic charge that attracts nearby sharks to it and ultimately makes them hunger for flesh. This is not good for an underground sea laboratory, as the rock has landed close by to it's quarters. The occupants then must find a way to avoid the sharks and get out before they are eaten alive.

RAGING SHARKS, has the typical bad movie acting you'd expect, but there are a few performances that are noteworthy. For one, Corin "Corky" Nemec, was surprisingly able to somewhat hold his own here in this film. The last time I saw Nemec was last year when I caught a re-run of "I Know My First Name is Steven" where he played kidnap victim, who later became the brother of the Yosemite Killer, Steven Stayner. He was pretty good in that one and i'll have to say he was quite alright in this one as well. Vanessa Angel, is also in this film, and I just vaguely remember her from the Weird Science TV show, she puts out an average performance, in which I am sure she can do better than this. The last person worth mentioning I guess is Corbin Bernsen, everyone knows him, some hate, some love him, I am however in between. I really liked him in the DENTIST films...and ever since he has went down hill, he is now in the UPN sit-com CUTS, and I think that show is terrible. So here i'd say his performance is mediocre, only because he is capable of a lot more.

Some really negative things about this film : In it's climax sequences, the film basically uses every slasher one-liner type saying we have heard elsewhere. I guess I said now say that, yes someone betrays the crew on the ship and tries to kill shouldn't I? Well yeah the lines they use are the utmost cheesiest. Lastly the ending is bizarre and so stupid and unbelievable that, it majorly faults this movie...but funny I guess.

GORE METER
4/10 The gore here is ok, most of the time when the sharks attack the kills are out of focus, but 10% of the time not.

MUSICAL SCORE
2.5/10 Typical "shark movie" score... you know, Military sounding stuff? Well you get the picture.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Overall, I thought this movie was quite alright....good for B level if you ask me. It's not one of my favorites, maybe something I might enjoy occasionally or something, It'd have to say they did a good job on the sharks though. But like I said in the beginning.... don't take my word on this one, I liked it but not every one will find it interesting.
