PLOT
Astronomers across the world are watching the sky as a meteor is reported on a collision course with our planet. When the rock gets to crash on Earth, some campers in the neighborhood decide to venture in the woods to find that relic from outer space before the authorities. THE REVIEW
PURPLE GLOW is the newest film released by SVBI films by Sv Bell, it also marks my first time seeing a film by Mr. Bell as well. What we have here is a film that could've been more than what it truly was had it not been for mainly one major set back. The audience when watching PURPLE GLOW, will most likely only enjoy the last 40 minutes of the film's roughly 80 minute running time. I say this because the first half of the film is shot entirely in the dark, which in turn makes the film dreadful, as it is hard to see or comprehend anything that is happening on screen. Had it not been for the film's poor lighting and photography in it's inaugural hour and a half plus... this film would have been far more greater on so many levels.,

The idea of a glowing purple meteorite that crashes to the earth, that possess the power to lure in individuals close by and seduce them into a sexually charged hungering blood-thirsty trance, has yet to have been done before PURPLE GLOW or at least to my knowledge. This story seems to have not been meant to be taken seriously, as it is very light in it's nature, it at times has what i'd call an undying thirst for attention as the humor comes in quite often, but it's just not enough for me to forget that lighting distraction earlier.

The acting in this is really terrible even in terms of the "B-Movie" most act here as if they have never had the proper training and seem to drift off track in the middle of their dialogue. The worst performance in PURPLE GLOW comes from Elisabeth Faure, her acting was so lethargic and whiny, that it became very annoying after the first 5 minutes of hearing her speak. However I really liked Costa's presence here and thought he did pretty well. But for every bed of coal there must be at least one diamond in the rough and that would be Melantha Blackthorne. Now I have never had the pleasure to see Melantha on screen prior to this, but I could instantly tell that Blackthorne did NOT belong in this film... she was simply out of place here. I could probably assume that she has endless talent but with this film she was not really able to fully "glow"....

This is probably one of the most difficult write-ups that I have ever written, I don't know how to fully express my feelings about PURPLE GLOW... I mean it's a funny story and all but I feel as I have only gotten half of the story, simply because the other half was hidden in total darkness!....

GORE METER
3/10 The gore in the film was minimal at best, PURPLE GLOW is not really aimed to gory Is the impression I get.

MUSICAL SCORE
2/10 It has some indie rock in it....I like indie rock but I wasn't digging this....the only thing cool really was the opening title theme.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
What can I say that I haven't already said? I say this a lot about films but this film had a lot of potential going in but do to either my eyes failing me or poor lit areas I wasn't able to enjoy all of it...but I enjoyed what I could... hopefully I will find the other SVBI films easier to soak in.
