PLOT
A massive earthquake rocks the country, and threatens to cause catastrophic damage to a nuclear power plant. Before the quake hit there were doubts about the safety of the plant, but these were ushered aside by the manager of the facility, who now may have placed millions of people in danger as the fires caused by the earthquake threaten to cause a sizeable disaster. But as the film works towards a tense conclusion, further surprises are in store for the people desperately trying to prevent the plant from reaching meltdown.

THE REVIEW
NATURE UNLEASHED : EARTHQUAKE, from MTI doesn't make the impact that the title suggests or implied. The story centers around a Nuclear Power plant engineer named Josh, whom is summoned from the US to Russia to inspect a local Power Plant there. His recently separated wife, whom also is an engineer is now stationed at that very plant in Russia, so when Josh hears there has been a minor earthquake in that region he catches a plane out. Upon arrival, Josh receives no attention from his wife and things don't seem to be improving for the two. This all changes when another sudden earthquake hits and they seem to be trapped in the plant, and they must find a way out. Most of the city is also in dire need of help, including Josh and Rachel, his wife's children,

EARTHQUAKE happens to be one of those films that you would probably only watch once and forget about. EARTHQUAKE, is an installment of the NATURE UNLEASHED series. This is the only one in the series that i've seen so far, but they do seem like a few rushed to video efforts. It's been said that maybe some of the scenes of destruction in this film are actual scenes used in other films, that would make this all more apparent. Also what is more confusing about this film is, it's set is Russia, but almost everyone sounds American with the exception of a few, in that sense, it reminded me of a good film called THE POOL. Where as in THE POOL, the mixed cultures sort of annoy you at first, but then again the film is so well written and directed that you just forget as you are thrown into some great action sequences. In the case of EARTHQUAKE, the dialogue seems to be dubbed half of the time, and poorly at that....some of the actor's tend to sound like incoherent robots. The back story here isn't really that interesting, we have a Mother, Father a Son and Daughter, whom never really hit the viewer emotionally. You get the feeling that this family hasn't been separated for long, maybe a week....but the story wants you to believe that the isolation has been lengthy.

Maybe this would not be the case had there been stronger acting involved. The acting here is terrible to me, not even average at best. As I mentioned, to make an action film or a pseudo action film in this case work, you must have emotion. The actors here, really do not give enough to make the scenarios seem believable enough.

This is not really Horror nor Sci-fi, but barely however falls into my boundaries I set for the movies I will review by way of it's very little suspense value.

GORE METER
2/10 Very little gore if any is used in EARTHQUAKE.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MUSICAL SCORE
2/10 Starts with some cheesy disco inspired music and eventually goes into the generic B-Movie orchestration.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
This movie tries to be what it's competitors are, but with lack luster f/xs and obvious use of green screen it just doesn't live up. NATURE UNLEASHED : EARTHQUAKE, has very little to remember at least that's my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this.
