THE REVIEW
MOTOR HOME MASSACRE tells the typical slasher story. A group of friends who plan a weekend camping trip all pack into one of teen's parent's motor home and head out to a local popular camping site. Each of the teens seem to have their own reason for going on the trip such as spending time with the one they love or even the opposite, forgetting about a recent breakup. Sounds like nice a and warm story right? Well just as any Horror movie seems to always fold out, the teens are warned that a murder has occurred the prior night nearby their camping destination, Well instead of wising up, in text book fashion the curiosity gets the better of them and they feel they must go check things out for themselves. Once the group arrives they are instructed by a ranger that do to the circumstances regarding the accident. the teens must not leave the area. During the peak hours or the night, to stay entertained they converse and play cruel jokes on one another, that is until it becomes difficult to tell the difference between a joke and reality, as each of them begin to die once by one in various gruesome ways.

First off, I will begin by saying that I had very high hopes for this one and again I am let down by yet another. It starts off by looking like a slasher film of the good 'ol days, you know, low lit scenery, grainy camera, cheesy title sequences -- the works. Many of the 70's and 80's slasher films started off dull, some of them picked up towards mid film and ended with a bang, like THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, other's started dull and well.... stayed that way, and i'm afraid MOTOR HOME MASSACRE falls in the latter. We understandably begin showing all of our young people meeting up for the trip, they exchange a few lines and then they finally start to make their commute, while also conveniently stopping at a gas station only to receive the bad news, that they are doomed from the store clerk that was to be expected. What I am saying is that at this point the film begins to drag and continue with a slow pace and during this time, nothing is really learned about the characters nor the story, just pointless dialogue after dialogue.

The film is also riddled with many cliché elements that you see in just about every slasher that has came out in the last 12 years. You have the jokester friend that plays jokes on everyone, mostly jokes that involve death, making him an easy target for his real death, the "stranger" that suddenly appears and becomes friendly and then everyone begins to suspect them, and the new instance of late......the "White guy who acts Black".... that one actually gets old pretty quick.

The acting in the film is not much more than average and the characters are your typical teens in distress, But I will give credit to the female casting as a couple of them are quite beautiful... but that is about all.

The plot of MOTOR HOME MASSACRE, just does not live up, the action is very little and the body count is far from being a massacre and to top it all off, it leaves no secret and becomes highly predictable over time.... or perhaps from the VERY BEGINNING if you're smart enough to connect the proverbial dots.

GORE METER
4/10 The gore in the film, while being far from realistic, it just ok looking. But then again what do you expect to see when the victims are being killed with an obvious plastic machete?

MUSICAL SCORE
4/10 I liked the fact that some independent music was used in the film, but the purpose of music in a film is usually to add or intensify the feel of it, I felt it did not.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
MOTOR HOME MASSACRE, is your typical slasher, and is another film that takes a nod from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and perhaps a little hint of films like DETOUR, but is highly predictable and somewhat dull at times. I cannot say I recommend it, but who knows? This film must be for someone!

This DVD will be released on May 23,2006
