THE REVIEW
In MOTOCROSS ZOMBIES FROM HELL, Cody, his best friend, and bike mechanic Tom, as well as his girlfriend are preparing for Cody's next big race. Cody has apparently been on a winning streak, and he sees this race as just another win under his belt. But little does he know that he would have to overcome an obstacle in the form of the sinister Ivan Deadmen and his racing team known as "The Skulls". When Cody's radiator blows, he is down and out of the race, but The Skulls' eyes are still upon he and his friends, and soon they are in a race for their lives. It appears that The Skull team are something different, they are members of Satan's undead and they are on a mission to claim the life of Cody and anyone else whom stands in their way.
Awhile back, I reviewed another low budget zombie flick from Westlake Entertainment, which also happened to be by Director G.R. To be honest I thought ZOMBIES GONE WILD was boring, with very dry, unfunny humor and a really scattered plot. So now a few months later comes this film MOTOCROSS ZOMBIES FROM HELL, and from the moment I saw the title, I new it would be cheap and cheesy. I mean, what could you expect from a title like MOTOCROSS ZOMBIES FROM HELL? Motocross and Zombies, who would've thought this up(well apparently "G.R." did)? I know that zombies have been the cornerstone of many different Horror films, but myself, in a million years would've never ever fathomed the idea of Motocross racing and zombies being combined. With combing two things that go together about as well as Mustard and Peanut Butter, the resulting story is as ridiculous as the title suggests it would be.
Like ZOMBIES GONE WILD, MOTOCROSS ZOMBIES appears to be shot on a very low budget, and has that shot on video appearance. The story plays out as if Writer/Director, G.R. had thought up this brilliant idea of combining Motocross racing and Zombies in about a day or so, with a couple of days spent shooting it, with no idea as to how to execute a sensible plot.
With the title putting emphasis on the word Motocross, it may be surprising(or not) that only very little was focused on the subject. Sure we see or main character Cody riding around on a track(which all of the riding seems to be stock footage anyway), and a couple of times, it shows the zombies, "The Skulls" approaching on their bikes - but this leads us into the rest of our story which plays out sort of like a low grade version of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. But, unlike NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, it has absolutely no suspense, and the zombie makeup, is just bad.
Being a low-budget film, this film suffers from the usual, most notably the video quality. Don't get me wrong, there are in fact films of the same quality and budget I do like(VIDEO VIOLENCE is one). One of several problems I noticed is that when the camera would switch back and forth from actor to actor, so would the lighting, making the flow uneven and appear to be pieced together(whether it was or not, i'm not sure). The acting was again below average, as everyone seemed stiff and awkward with their lines. Dave Campettelo, (whom was also in ZOMBIES GONE WILD)as Tom, Cody's bike tuner and best friend, to me gave the only fairly decent performance.
Overall, MOTOCROSS ZOMBIES FROM HELL, is a low budget film, with very little plot, and seems to be just another film made as an excuse to throw a bunch of zombies at us - the zombie craze seems to be continuing, but unfortunately not many "good" films are coming out of it.

GORE
METER
2/10 A severed head, an eaten corpse, and a few gunshot wounds....I wasn't too impressed here.

MUSICAL
SCORE
4.5/10 The soundtrack was actually a lot better than the movie. It consisted of several rock tracks, most were heavy and even catchy at times.

OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Well, with this film I wasn't expecting much, seeing as from the very beginning I thought the title was ridiculous. Westlake Entertainment continues to release these low budget films, but I have yet to find one that I really enjoyed - This film is slightly better than ZOMBIES GONE WILD however, that's not saying much.
