THE REVIEW
Occasionally when surfing the net I would see this movie and I knew that someday down the line I'd give it a look. Well that time has come and I can honestly tell you that I am not too impressed with this film. While watching it, I felt like I was watching a Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 rip-off. In fact that was just what I was watching, a rip-off off that and many other horror films. In it we have the monster truck chasing down a classic car on an open road....this has already happened previously in film's such as Duel and Jeepers Creepers, which in turn I believe Jeepers Creepers was inspired by duel in that sense. We also have a very lame looking bowl of chili made of "human being" where have we saw this? Why yes in 1988's Texas Chainsaw 2! There will always be films that use other things from more famous films, such as this some will succeed, yet some will fail and this one happens to fail pretty badly.

As far as the monster truck goes, it is made to be one of the main villains here, despite the driver being the true villain. The Truck looks almost at times a parody and completely laughable. This truck meant to be believable looks too unrealistic to take serious. Sometimes thought the movie, it appears to be a model of the truck moving in stop-motion animation... this things should be concealed well, I'm willing to bet that's what it is.

As for the acting, it is really terrible to watch. All of the cast members feel out of place and acted like amateurs. Eric Jungmann and Justin Urich, play 2 goofball buddies driving across town as a trip. The 2 often trade insults thought the film and after a while it gets really old and annoying. The only thing good is that Urich has a few funny one liners he uses.

Next we have the utterly ridiculous villain, slasher, killer.....what ever you so choose to kill him, played by Michael Bailey Smith. This character looks like a 3rd rate leatherface wearing a mask, that horror movies have simply just worn out, a mask made of stitched skin. This killer also stumbles about like he is highly intoxicated and on drugs, it makes his appeal a complete joke. Also we have the "Monster Man's" brother that acts like a newly recycled Chop-Top.....my man Bill Moseley would not be proud.

This film, is somewhat ok, it's more centered around comedic purposed and not horror. What a good slasher always needs is a good amount of action and gore and there hardly is none of that here, just a minimum.

I heard that Fangoria Magazine called Monster Man "Duel for Dummies"..... I couldn't agree more with that.

GORE METER
3/10 Not a lot of gore, I thought this was supposed to be a horror flick? When there is gore, it is not well executed and is quite dull.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MUSICAL SCORE
2/10 I mentioned dull in the gore category....well guess what? this gets that pinned on it as well...nothing musically is shown to bring out the atmosphere of the film, such as films like Halloween achieve.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Well this film is not that great at all, it is just OK, luckily I did not pay or rent this one. I wouldn't advise you to rent it unless really bored. Better yet do what I did and catch it on Cable TV....
