THE REVIEW
In THE INSATIABLE, Harry Balbo, a salesman, is just your everyday single guy. He works a job that he doesn't really like, with a co-worker named Javier who always seems to pick on him, just one of the things he likes to to make fun of is Harry's love life. As for as his love life, nothing seems to interest Harry, not even his hot young neighbor, whom obviously has feelings for him - he doesn't seem to have to desire for a relationship and prefers to be alone. But with Harry, something changes when he witnesses a Vampiress devour her latest victim ultimately beheading him. The Vampiress in which he saw has been front page news for awhile and no one has been able to capture her. While the female vampire's malice actions have been on the minds of the whole entire city - something else has been on Harry's mind ever since he saw her - her enchanting beauty. Harry begins to be obsessed with this vampiress named Tatiana and can't stop thinking about her. But when the local convenience store clerk, with whom Harry was an acquaintance with, turns up dead at the hands of Tatiana - Harry is caught in a predicament, does he hunt her down and put an end to her killing spree, or does he hide her away from any harm?

Is it me, or has there been a lot of Vampire flicks that have come out in the last few years? Well, THE INSATIABLE just so happens to be yet another film to add to that ever-so-growing list of them. However, this one isn't your typical Vampire movie, there is no mythological background told about Vampires, or the usual things you'd find in a Vampire film. THE INSATIABLE actually takes on the approach of a black comedy, that is ultimately a forbidden love story in the end..

The script is a really simple one, it's not that complex nor is it all that clever, but it has a bit of humor, that at the least makes it interesting. The basic story here is that a single lover falls for a "girl" but he knows it's some sort of unattainable love, he knows that she is a cold blooded killer, and knows it's wrong... but on the other hand he see's it from a different perspective, and that all she is doing is merely feeding to survive. In the end we see Harry, our main character capture Tatiana and keep her locked in a human sized cage, and while keeping her safe, he brings her various things to feed on - he does this as sort of a token of love,

Honestly I wouldn't consider THE INSATIABLE a Horror film, but rather a dark comedy, with a few Horror elements. It has a lot of comedic content that makes the film seem more like a situation comedy we'd see on TV every week. The pace is steady some of the dialogue is funny, but after awhile it starts to seem repetitive. Also going back to it seeming more like a TV show, the story is a bit too straight forward with no clever twists, or anything of the such to progress the story up a notch - the film's beginning and end are too clear in sight. As for the acting I thought it to be average at best. I thought Sean Patrick Flanery was pretty decent as Harry Balboa, but as with all of the characters in the film, his character had no real depth. Sure we knew Harry was really obsessed/in love with Tatiana, but we never get a real since of realism to be convinced that he is. Charlotte Ayanna as Tatiana, not far from a normal human being making her Vampiress character seem very one dimensional, and far less menacing than that is meant.

Overall, the film was just ok to me. It got better in the last half of the film, but all-in-all had nothing really solid in the beginning supporting it to make it a much better conclusion.

GORE METER
3.5/10 Not all that gore, one bloody devouring, the rest seemed to be surely suggestive in nature.

MUSICAL SCORE
2.5/10 All I seem to remember about the score is a few rock tracks and some classical music, I really thought the classical music was an odd choice.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
In my opinion THE INSATIABLE, offers letter to noticing new to the vampire sub-genre. The plot is not anything original, because although it's not distributed as of yet, an indie film called EAT YOUR HEART OUT, basically had the same plot outline(although it was a Zombie female instead of a Vampire in that film), and I thought that film to be a little bit more developed as far as characters go anyway. Overall, it's not a terrible film by any means, but it's also not the most entertaining either.
