PLOT
Meet Aric Blue. He's young. He's handsome. He's successful. He's also a serial killer. He picks his victims at random, stalking them and taking advantage of the patterns in their life to kill them. He's the ultimate serial killer. But when he finds his next victim already dead, a note on the body reading: "I'VE GOT YOUR PATTERN", Aric realizes he's being stalked by a serial killer every bit his equal. When two serial killers wage war, the rules are simple: Don't Get In The Way.

THE REVIEW
HUNTING HUMANS is a very insightful film. In this film we follow serial killer Aric Blue as he plots and kills his victims. Each plan is thoroughly thought out and explained in detail to the viewing audience. If you have never read any documentation on real serial killers... I do all the time, but if you have not, this movie will demonstrate exactly what it's like to BE a serial killer! While watching this film it is almost like you are living inside the mind of Aric Blue. You follow Aric's everyday regimen as he stalks each and every victim.

Aric learns every victims "pattern" as in what they do often and continuously each day. With that information about the individuals, he makes a pattern of his own and often changes it do make it less of a threat to get caught. This seems to work out quite nicely for Aric until one faithful night in which he plans to kill once more. The latest victim happens to be a theater projectionist whom works at a theater, upon getting into the theater, Blue finds that the victim had already met his demise by the hands of ANOTHER killer. On the victim's body a note is found that read's "I KNOW YOUR PATTERN!", to the shock of Aric someone has been following him in the same manner as he with his victims!

This is where the story takes a turn and our once hard nosed killer becomes a nervous wreck, he often wonders just how and why did this other "killer" figure him out? From this point on everyone to Aric, from his boss at work to the secretary to his friends they are all guilty.. The situations between the two killers becomes a game of human "cat-and-mouse" which really makes the movie something of an entertaining gem, as they increase their kills just to out do one another.

When it is all said and done the two killers meet face to face this is long after the private investigators that they have come and gone, but it doesn't end until a major twist has occurred!

The camera work here by Kevin Kangas, is really what makes this film so authentic, the grainy look and texture of the film, really puts you right in the mind of Aric Blue first-hand. The cameras make the viewer actually believe that they are at one with the killer.

The acting here isn't all that great excluding the acting of Producer/Star Rick Ganz. Rick Ganz is an amazing actor in his own right and without Ganz, HUNTING HUMANS might not have had the same appeal and "authenticity" that it does have. This is my first time seeing Rick Ganz, he is in Kangas' other film "FEAR OF CLOWNS" In which have yet to see. Rick adds a nice presence to the screen.. he has the look and attitude of a star, I say it's only a matter of time until Ganz makes a breakthrough...

This film was almost so real into the mind of an actual killer that it is almost chilling, had it went any further, it might've been banned for being too revealing!

GORE METER
3/10 the gore is almost all the time insinuated, you know it's there but you just don't see it. On that note I don't think it was otherwise needed as the killings shocked the viewer anyway.

MUSICAL SCORE
6/10 The soundtrack was fantastic for an indie film! I loved the songs performed by Hellbent, and the score producer Evan Evans composed some of the finest music I have heard in awhile.
