THE REVIEW
To be honest with you, I am not a big fan of Vampire movies, but still checked this out anyway. This story reminds me a lot of "Leatherface : The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III" In in which 2 individuals are driving cross country to deliver a car to the female lead's father.
This movie was an hip take on vampires, almost modernizing at times, sharp photography, lighting, it all works well in this case. I really liked the action of this particular movie, Gore is scattered through this film.
I wouldn't necessarily call this movie original since I previously mentioned the similarities with TCM III, it also at times has a "Lost Boys" feeling to it as well.
The acting, I'd say is above average at best, not at all perfect, but the cast seems to pull through it, Brendan Fehr was surprisingly good in this serious role. While not the most original it still comes across as an average horror/thriller.

GORE
METER
6/10 we get implements as well as shotgun blasts and various explosions. This movie was a lot gorier than I would have expected, it has enough for everyone.

MUSICAL
SCORE
7/10 great rock tunes from the likes of Nickelback and Coal Chamber. |

SPECIAL
FEATURES RATING
3/10 This DVD had some rather boring featurettes, they didn't offer any insight into the film whatsoever.... usually when you watch special features on a DVD you would hope for an inside look into the film in question. However, these do not help you in that way.

OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
This film, I'd recommend to even the non Vampire fan, as I'm not really a big fan after all. The story never seems to grow old, however, I can't say that this would be a movie worthy of multiple views. I still recommend it if it interests you to any extent.
