PLOT
In this horrifying, modern retelling of Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN, a neurosurgeon obsessed with the reanimation of dead flesh murders his patient and resurrects the corpse. Instead of life, he creates pure Evil as the Creature carves a path of flesh and gore through the heart of the city.

THE REVIEW
FRANKENSTEIN REBORN, is a modern take on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein of course. With me not being a huge fan of anything Frankenstein anyway, I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The story centers around Dr. Victor Franks, who has been experimenting in rebuilding dead neurological cells such as the one's found in spinal injury victims. The experiments become so fascinating to Victor that he comes up with a plan along with his partner to take various body parts for the dead to create the ultimate beast. He uses the creature to his advantage until it backfire, when he finds himself on the other end of the creature's rage.
This film is actually pretty boring as it is really slow in delivery. The film has a bunch of dialogue that never actually leads to anything really. Most of the film is a police interrogation of Victor as he recounts on what happened, It is not actually until about 40 minutes in that it gets remotely interesting, as we watch the beast make his way through a number of victims in a gory fashion. But truly the film's only real good moment would be towards the end as the agents try to take down Frankenstein.
However this film is shot very well, and has very realistic gore that I loved, the creature happened to look amazing as well, but that is simply not enough when you have bad acting and a story that fails to keep you entertained. Another problem is at some parts in the movie the sound is downplayed by the score, the score is so loud, that the actors can barely be heard.
But overall, what you are left with here is a story that is only half interesting...even if that

MUSICAL
SCORE
2/10 The score is bad and like I mentioned it totally clouds some of the dialogue. |

SPECIAL
FEATURES RATING
5/10 Special features for this movie are ok, I liked how you really got to see how the creatures makeup is applied. It also allows you to get to know the character's more. Also included are one deleted scene as well as two extended scenes, and last some bloopers and a feature commentary. |

OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
I really did not enjoy this film, Although really gory, when you begin looking for an actual story it will not be easily found. It goes for the serious approach but what you really have here is almost a comedy. The Asylum definitely has many more films that are more enjoyable than this.
