THE REVIEW
Devour.... Well with this one I had went in thinking it looked really great. The plot and trailer looked really cool and all, and also had Shannyn Sossamon in it, so I really wanted to see this. Well some parts are indeed quite good and do get you thinking, this movie is like a cross in between supernatural as well as horror. This is about a young man played by Jensen Ackles, whom is haunted by evil visions. Jake Cummings and his pals become obsessed by a mysterious online game called The Pathway. This mysterious game somehow collects all of the information of its participants. Jake and his friends all begin receiving mysterious phone calls from an unknown assailant, instructing each of them to commit evil deeds "for the game" It just so ends up that all the visions in Jake's head begin happening in reality. He then begins to realize that this game is not random, the game is actually targeting him, all along...

The acting in Devour i'd say was above average for a Direct to Video flick, this movie has a young cast and they all seemed to do pretty well here. This is the first time I had ever saw Dominique Swain act before, and I really enjoyed seeing her perform, Shannyn Sossamon, did very well as she always does, it's almost a shame to see her in this movie though, did I mention she is very beautiful on camera?

This film looked like it could pass as one of today's mainstream movies. But maybe the fact that this movie is rather slow and may I mention confusing...maybe that might be the reason this film is DTV. It also goes against certain religions as well, it does involve Satanic visuals so if you are a little squeamish toward that subject it may not be for you..

GORE METER
5/10 Lots of blood splatter, some very cool impalements among other things...

MUSICAL SCORE
4/10 This film's music is just ok, some heavy rock tracks as well as some generic sounding hip-hop appear hear. The movie does have a great opening credit track.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
This film was just ok, at times it's great, at times quite boring. It is just all one big mix, i'd recommend this though for one of those times that you are bored as hell(no pun intended) and have nothing to do.
