THE REVIEW
One of the sole purposes as to my reason for wanting to review this film because it had
Brinke Stevens in it. Brinke Stevens is someone whom I both admire and respect, as she
have been the queen of the B realm for quite some time now. Here we also have a man
that many fans already know, FX genius Tom Savini, also someone whom I respect a
great deal.
Ok, with my introduction aside, I will now give you my thoughts on DEMON LUST. With
DEMON LUST, it's kind of suspicious really, having these two big names attached to such
a film, well it does make you wonder if the film makers were trying to "cash in".
Naturally, I begin to believe so as this film seems to go absolutely nowhere.
Our 2 slackers in the film, Tony and Nick seem to be in the predicament of all
predicaments, when they fall way behind on terms with a mob boss. The 2 men, Tony
and Nick need $10,000 to pay their debt, and seemingly they will do anything to get it. A
friend who runs a local bar, notifies the boys about the wealthy status of a bar frequenter
there who's name is Amanda. He then concocts a plan, for the two to break into her home
in hopes to collect enough money from Amanda's home to pay off their misfortunes.
When Amanda is not home, Tony and Nick break in, it's not long after they begin to
rummage, that they begin to hear strange distinct noises, it seems that Amanda is far
more different than the beautiful lady she appears to be. It is shortly after that, that the
trouble has just begun for the two characters.
This film could be a lot better than it truly was. The story with the mob and with Amanda
being a Vampiress, just really didn't make a lot of sense. It's almost like you have 2
different films in one, a Vampire movie and a mob movie. I think if divided on their own
the two stories may very well fair better. The look of the film was not the best in the
world as it is not the type of quality that I am accustomed to seeing from EI Cinema. I am
willing to bet that this is another one of EI's early acquisitions.... EI's quality level normally
is for more superior,
The directing here looks a little inexperienced as well, the simplest of camera/ transition
effects used as well as poor angles and lighting, Obviously also shot on video, this also
doesn't help the film out any. It's also a shame that since Tom Savini is occupied in an
acting role, they must choose a different FX artist who just ruin's any credibility this film
may or may not have had. The FX were terrible and I bet even Savini laughed at them.
The only notable acting was by the two big names in the film and no one else seems to
stand out, this is another thing that hurt the film, Brinke Stevens did a good job as she
almost always tends to do as Amanda. She just seemed to fit right in as the seductress
and looked like it came natural when she had to slaughter someone. Tom Savini plays a
prominent member of the gang, and his name is Eddie "The Goose" Rao. It was really
clever and funny how they always had Eddie check his hair and moustache after killing a
victim, it's just something I could see a killer doing, it's a trait.
Coupled with bad supporting actors, even bad main character actors, bad direction as
well as lighting, all you have is a bad movie that could of had all the potential in the
world, and two talented people wasted and used improperly..

GORE
METER
2/10 As I mentioned the FX were not all that great and very poorly executed, although one decapitation stands out
. |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
MUSICAL
SCORE
3/10 The score really did nothing to improve the actual film, there is the occasional piano music that has quickly became a horror mainstay these days.

SPECIAL
FEATURES RATING
5/10 I give the special features a 5 because it has a great interview with Brinke Stevens and she talks about how not only is she an actress in horror she is also a genuine fan of the genre, and how she loves what she does for a living. If you didn't already respect Brinke you certainly will after viewing this interview,
Also included is an erotic short film involving Brinke, as well as the always packed EI Cinema Trailer vault.

OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
Don't get me wrong, I have seen worse movies than DEMON LUST, but I am disappointed
in how this one turned out, the only reason to watch this as I mentioned previously is Brinke Stevens and Tom Savini, other than that I wouldn't recommend this one.
