THE REVIEW
DELIVERY, tells us the story of Monty Goth. Monty is a heavyset man that makes his living as a pizza delivery boy, whether it be jokes about his weight, disgruntled customers, a cocky boss, or reoccurring nightmares of the night his father killed his mother and then later himself, Monty is always in a world of torture no matter how hard he tries. However Monty is always trying to better himself by being respectful and also, he tries to get the orders fulfilled on time....he even takes an ill-fated job at a local film school as the janitor....and even that seems to fail him. Down on his luck, our poor delivery boy continues the job delivering pizzas because generations of his family have done so, and on upon a delivery at the house of a young woman named Bibi.... Monty senses something special about her. It is not long that he finds out that she is the sister of Timmy a fellow "Pie in the Sky" employee that Monty just can't stand. Monty chooses to ignore this fact all in the name of love and the couple soon embark on an all too brief relationship... I say brief because everyone finds out about the two including brother Timmy who is really appalled at their relationship. After a night with Bibi, Monty shows up at Bibi's home to find that Bibi has been beaten by her brother, and Timmy as told her false stories of Monty having an STD and that the pizza delivery boy's father was a lunatic. Bibi's words really took a toll on the big man and the pain and anger of years of torture comes to a head and finally Monty loses all since of reality and snaps...Soon Monty Goth is killing everyone that has ever treated him wrong, that includes every customer!

We all must agree that the job of a pizza delivery boy is not the most glamorous job in the world, and sometimes we have to wonder just what they think when say for instance they are taken advantage of. Well her comes a film in DELIVERY that not only tells this story, but also it puts you into the mind of the delivery boy..... just what would they do to fight back? The film was made for about $6,000 and I have to see the appearance makes it look damn near like a million bucks. Director Jose Cassella whom is normally the Director of Photography for such films as Andre The Butcher, is also handling photography not to mention the score as well. Just as Jose seems to do in everything he does....he makes a far less expensive feature look top notch, I quality that would rival the best indie pictures. The problem I had with DELIVERY wasn't the budget or quality however but with the story and pace itself, The last stretch of the film is amazingly entertaining as we see Monty kill off his foes in various ways.....he ever makes a human pizza with the organs of his boss and then later uses it as a weapon the suffocate another victim! This stuff is awesome as it happens but I feel it takes a bit too much time to get to the excitement, as it begins around the 1 hour 15 minute mark. Most of the movie is often padded out showing Monty delivering pizza over and over again, and in my honest opinion is it begins to become repetitive and boring.

Some of the acting in the film is a little below average, with a few exceptions. Matt Nelson is great as the big guy Montgomery Goth, you do often feel sorry and sympathetic for him and he is often believable to viewers. Tara Cardinal as Bibi is a delight, she may have a few more things to sharpen up on in her acting, but I was pleased with the performance she gave to us, she's cute and plus Matt Nelson and she, seem to have great chemistry. There are also a ton of nude sorority girls in the film, I don't know where Cassella and indie filmmakers like Phil Cruz get their ladies from, but they are always hot!

Overall DELIVERY is a project that is based on dedication and not a lot of money and that will always get my respect. If the pace would have been a little tighter and a little quicker my rating would be higher, most definitely!

GORE METER
5/10 The gore relatively does not start until later in the film.....the human pizza looked brutal and nasty I will say that!

MUSICAL SCORE
5.5/10 In my opinion, the score was ok, it doesn't make a huge impact on the film but often lends a little more enjoyment.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
This film is a fine effort for the money allowed, as what they had was utilized to it's fullest potential. My main complain that some of the scenes may have been longer than necessary and thus dragged the film down as I noted. Other than that, DELIVERY shows you just how great an independent film can look and it only takes a little dedication and skill...
