THE REVIEW
CRIMINALLY INSANE 2, obviously the sequel to CRIMINALLY INSANE doesn't deserve to be linked to the original at all. Shot some 12 years after the original, the original's picture and everything surpasses, the younger sequels. On top of all that the film's 70 minute or so runtime is filled with clips from the original, which take up most of that time. Why this would put almost the entire original film in it's sequel is totally beyond me. Do not see this film before the great original or you will spoil how great of a film that one is, in CRIMINALLY INSANE 2 you basically see all the death scenes from CRIMINALLY INSANE as flashbacks.
"Crazy Fat Ethel" has been in a mental hospital once again, after her actions years prior. The Institution is having funding problems and they have no choice but to transfer her to some place more "safe and secure" They send her to Bartholomew house, which is owned by Hope Bartholomew(played by Jane Lambert, who played Ethel's Granny in the original) From her we get a lot of footage of Ethel sleeping, in which in cues the flashbacks. There is really nothing more to this film as it is basically a carbon copy of the original, "someone takes away Ethel's food, she kills"
Looking at this film you would never believe that the same man that directed CRIMINALLY INSANE directed this one, shaky camera work, bad cuts and edits, and entirely slow scenes that bore you to death, that's what CRIMINALLY INSANE 2 is.

GORE
METER
2/10 It almost seems as if they were trying to avoid budget costs here, this film steers clear from the gore from the original. This one is just dry....

OVERALL
IMPRESSION OF THE FILM
LOVED the original hated the sequel, that is the moral to this story. This film was one big mess, that couldn't be cleaned up with a million hands. Again, see the first one....well first, and you will probably like it. If you get the trilogy release by EI Independent Cinema, you will get this film, as well as the original and SATAN'S BLACK WEDDING, another film by Nick Millard(Philips).
