THE REVIEW
Bite Me! was my second look at director Brett Piper, and after seeing Screaming Dead I gained a lot of respect for him. Now with seeing Bite Me! I will say that I have even more respect for this man! This story is very very funny, and has a very much softer edge than that of Screaming Dead. But this softer edge is so soft that it gets old, the movie keeps you into it until the last minute, I was really sad when it ended....I wanted it to keep going! Of course this movie has it's horror, but what else this film has is the kind of marijuana humor, that people find in 70's, and early 80's films.. I admit I laughed out loud more than one time. The film is about giant bugs......yes, I did say giant bugs, that spawn from a biologically enhanced batch of "Mary Jane". A sleazy club owner... is down on his luck and he has 10 days to come up with the money that is needed to save the club. Well he hopes to do so by selling off this marijuana, to which at first he does not know has been tampered with. When the bugs are unleashed inside the club, all Hell breaks loose! These bugs have the ability to make whomever they bite became lustful towards other individuals..... let's just say, a lot of distractions occur...

The acting here was superb, simply the best acting I have seen yet to come out of Shock-O-Rama! Well balanced witty, funny, and at times serious... the movie really gets the job done. Erika Smith, is truly great as the "stripper who can't see, without her glasses" I laughed my ass off when she fell off of the stage! Caitlin Ross, also was great, her antics when she was high on the marijuana was at sometimes priceless, Caitlin's role was initially Tailored for Misty Mundae, until problems arose, I am glad they did. Rob Monkiewicz completely improved since I last saw him in Screaming Dead, his character as the wacky exterminator, was really slapstick funny and I for one enjoyed it. Misty Mundae, what more can be said about this talent that I haven't already said? The girl is amazing, she could make a broomstick look sexy. Her Character in Bite me, was the heroine, and, she showed she could pull it off, even though, her herself once said that she didn't think she could.

Also brought back by Piper was the missing art form of "Stop-Motion Animation", this is often replaced, by the lazy people these days with their high end CGI. I most remember Stop-Motion, from the great Chiodo Brothers, with their "Killer Klowns" flick. It's great to see this back on film.... Thank you Brett!

I know i'll most likely get trashed by other reviewers, for my high rating on this film but, this is "My" review and "My" opinion and I loved this film!

GORE METER
3/10 not REAL gory, but it is extremely cool whenever the bugs explode when filled with blood..... .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MUSICAL SCORE
2/10 bland for my liking but who needs a lot of music when you're laughing and having fun?

SPECIAL FEATURES RATING
8/10 Possibly the king of all special features compilations for Shock-O.... It contains the "Shock and Terror" video from cKy featuring the ever so gorgeous Misty Mundae. With all of my professionalism aside for a second, I think cKy is one of the most talented unrated, unappreciated bands alive today!

Also, it features the screening of Bite Me! at the Rue Morgue Film Festival in Toronto. Let me just tell you that the reaction shown by the fans makes my very appreciative that EI Independent/Shock-O-Rama supports TerrorHook.com! I do for one share the same passion and devotion for Shock-O-Rama, as those fans, as well as all of their fans do....
